Lord Of The Loop

Deerhunter’s Lockett Pundt has just this month released his second album under the solo moniker Lotus Plaza. 2012's "Spooky Action At A Distance"  is the follow-up to his 2009 solo debut "The Flashlight Collective", an album which was praised by critics, yet simply deemed as a continuation of his Deerhunter reverb-drenched structure.

This new record far surpases all pre-determined artistic expectations and easily stands as the best indie-rock album released so far this year. Managing to balance incredible layers of complexity with smart pop sensibility. Lockett has outdone himself this time, and has reinstated himself once again as "lord of the loop".

While it should be noted that this album must truly be heard in its entirety to fully appreciate its genius and brutal honesty, I invite you to  turn off your mind-lights and come get lost in the nostalgic dreamscape that is Lotus Plaza.
