Pond Impala

Pond is a psychadelic three-piece that shares two members with Tame Impala. It may be unfair to compare them to Tame Impala (the psychadelic four-piece responsible for 2010's mind bending "Innerspeaker"), but when a band like the former's shadow looms so long, it's difficult not to. So when we got our hands on their new album "Beard, Wives, Denim", we listened in with virgin ears only sub-consciously knowing to expect something amazing and tripped out of this world.
Recorded loose-and-fast in a rundown old farmhouse in Western Australia over two weeks back in 2010, this record has the feel of some well capable musicians getting back to their roots.
This track is entitled "Eye Pattern Blindness", one of the many stand-outs from this instant classic.

Tanlines Give Us Mixed Emotions

It's been in the woodworks for almost four years but finally its here. Brooklyn duo Tanlines have just released there long-awaited debut album Mixed Emotions. They’ve written some big, generous, wistful pop songs — tracks that straddle the line between mainstream-indie and classicist pop the same way Phoenix’s "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" and Yeasayer's "Odd Blood" have.
They released their first insanely catchy single "Brothers" a couple of months ago to listeners delight, but it only summed up a fraction of this albums brilliance.
If you havent already, do your ears a favor and buy this album.
But first check out their new video for the albums second single release "All Of Me".

Can You Smell It?

If your not yet familiar with Tim Presley, your in for a treat. White Fence is his 60's garage psych brainchild he somehow finds time for between working with two other bands, The Strange Boys  and Darker My Love. White Fences' 2011 "Is Growing Faith" was his second release and easily stood out from the large influx of lo-fi garage sounds we were blessed with over the past year. At first listen you think you've somehow stumbled back in time to the days of The Mama & Papas. It sounds familiar but not too familiar.
Well...we've just received news that White Fence has a new release due out April 3rd. Entitled "Family Perfume", it will be release in two parts!!!
Have a listen to the first single from Vol. 1, "It Will Never Be".

Child Of The Sun

Shafiq Husayn is one-third of the brains behind LA's spaced out funk collective Sa-Ra Creative Partners.  Widely regarded to have pioneered what is now known as the "LA sound", Sa-Ra has influenced beat makers and producers in LA and the world a like.
2009 marked the year of Shafiq's first solo venture, his fully instrumental LP "The Frequency Clash"  took us along for an experimental beat excursion through the minds of his alter-egos.
Now in 2012 we are proud to take you for a behind-the-scenes look at his forthcoming release "The LooP". In which he has collaborated with the likes of Jimetta Rose, J. Mitchell, Breezy Lovejoy, Mic Holden, and Thundercat.
An unbelievably talented beat maker and scene shaker, to say were excited for his new project would be a massive understatement.
